Who We Are

The New Jersey State Law Enforcement Officers Association was formed in 1938, incorporated originally as the New Jersey State Rural P.B.A.  It was incorporated under and by virtue of an act of the legislature of the State of New Jersey entitled "An act to incorporate Associations not for Pecuniary Profit" approved April 21, 1898.

Throughout the years the Association has  undergone many changes, including two name changes.  On institution of their last name change to the New Jersey State Law Enforcement Officers Association, membership privileges were expanded to include all Law Enforcement Officers and Associates.  Currently, the Association includes members from Federal, State, County and Municipal Law Enforcement Agencies, including Special and Auxiliary Police.

Meet our legislative representative, Laurie A. Clark. Laurie directs a full-scale government relations program for N.J.S.L.E.O.A. She represents our organization before legislative and regulatory bodies in Trenton, and produces educational and informational resources to ensure our members are up-to-date on the issues that affect them.  Laurie is founder and President of Legis-Serve, a Trenton firm providing legislative and public affairs counsel to a wide range of organizations throughout New Jersey. She is a former executive staffer of the New Jersey General Assembly with fourteen years of wide-ranging experience in state and county government.
